Inclusion Criteria:

Indonesian patients (male or female) with alopecia areata aged 10-55 years, whether or not they have received treatment at the Dermatology and Venereology Clinic of Ngoerah Hospital, patients who are willing to participate in the research and have signed an informed consent form, patients with good general condition, as proven by a normal medical history and physical examination

Exclusion Criteria:

Patients who are unwilling to participate in the study as evidenced by their refusal on the informed consent form, unwilling to have a blood sample taken for genetic analysis, willing to have a venous blood sample taken but the sample is contaminated with other samples, tissue samples that are damaged during the DNA isolation process, patients with other autoimmune involvement and related to the PTPN22 gene, patients who are undergoing treatment that can trigger alopecia areata
